Dolly Parton Launching Own Label

Country legend Dolly Parton has announced she's opening her own record label, Dolly Records. But wannabe singers need not apply. Parton will be the only artist on her label, releasing the first album on her new imprint next February.

"It's really the first mainstream country record Dolly has done in 17 years," her manager, Danny Nozell, tells Billboard.com.

Nozell says he and Dolly shopped around the major record labels for a distribution deal but did not find anything that suited them. So, the two came up with their own marketing plan.

The first single from Parton's yet-to-be-titled new album will be 'Better Get To Livin',' which will hit airwaves September 24. Parton is planning to kick off 2008 with a world tour in support of the release.
